Manufacturing Technician

Are you a highly skilled Manufacturing Technician looking to play a critical role in a dynamic and fast-paced environment?

As a Manufacturing Technician, you’ll be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving plant machinery and equipment to keep operations running smoothly. If you have the right skills, you will be empowered to make an impact on assembly line performance and maintenance procedures while working with a variety of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.

Hours + Salary:

  • Permanent Contract
  • 39 Hours per Week
  • 2-Shift Rotation AM/PM
  • Monday – Friday
  • Upto £47K DOE

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain plant and machinery to high standards through Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), addressing both electrical and mechanical issues.

  • Troubleshoot and repair machinery, ensuring efficient operation and reducing downtime.

  • Proactively schedule maintenance tasks, focusing on improving line performance and minimising disruptions.

  • Work under pressure and handle both urgent repairs and routine maintenance with discipline and precision.

  • Apply lean manufacturing techniques (such as 5S, Kaizen, TPM, AM & PM) to optimise operational performance.

  • Provide consistent communication with the team, ensuring everyone is informed and aligned on tasks.

What We’re Looking For:

To be successful in this Manufacturing Technician role, you will need:

  • A Level 3 Engineering or Maintenance qualification.

  • Strong electro-mechanical aptitude and experience

  • Troubleshooting skills and experience with electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.

  • The ability to respond to urgent issues while also planning and executing preventative maintenance and future improvements.

  • A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to work on complex problem-solving.

  • An understanding of lean manufacturing principles such as 5S, Kaizen, and TPM.

  • Computer literacy, with knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience:

  • General Maintenance Apprenticeship (Essential).

  • Automotive industry experience (Desirable).

  • CAD experience (Desirable).

  • IPAF Certification (Desirable).

  • Welding skills (Arc / MIG) (Desirable).

  • The ability to read engineering drawings (Essential).

  • Experience and ability to program (Desirable).

  • 17th Edition electrical qualification (Desirable).
